Tucked away on the third floor of the RSL Victoria State Headquarters in Collins Street is Fred Pratt’s domain – the Library.
A group from MHHV recently visited the RSL Victoria Library to see what they had in store and found a veritable treasure trove of books, diaries, photos and personal records.
In addition to a tremendous book collection, Fred showed us the sizeable collection of photos and personal records the Library holds.
“I hope that someone comes in to read and potentially type or digitise some of the diaries we have” said Fred.
“And then there are a lot of great photos that have not seen the light of day for many years”, he added.
Some parts of the collection have been placed on the Victoria Collections website here

The RSL Victoria Library is a unique collection that is being dutifully maintained by Fred.
The Library is open to the public and has a place for researchers to work.
Fred is in the Library between 10 am and 3 pm most weekdays and can be contacted on 9655 5508.
