World War One: A history in 100 stories

November 12, 2015 @ 5:00 am - 6:30 am

Join us for the launch of a significant social history book, and a lecture by Professor Jay Winter.
This Remembrance Day, World War One: A history in 100 stories, written by Monash University historians Professor Bruce Scates, Rebecca Wheatley and Laura James, will be launched.

This social history remembers not just the men and women who lost their lives during the battles of WWI, but those who returned home as well: the gassed, the crippled, the insane – all those irreparably damaged by war.

The occasion will also include a public lecture presented by world-renowned scholar, Professor Jay Winter, Yale University and Monash University, entitled ‘On remembering and forgetting war’.

Speaker/s

Dr Jay Winter
