Hamilton Lecture: Australia Will Be There

Join us in Hamilton for a talk by the Shrine’s Director of Exhibitions and Collections, Jean McAuslan, as she discusses how the First World War affected Australians abroad and at home. This war, fought with technology that outstripped military strategy, brought unprecedented destruction of people and landscape.
The touring exhibition explores these ideas through the reflections of those who were there, by telling their individual stories of sorrow, suffering, loss, tenacity and courage.
