Bob Richards joined the Navy as a junior recruit in January 1973, and he was selected as an Officer Candidate during his early days at HMAS LEEUWIN.On December 6th 2006 he was Promoted to Commodore and assumed duties as Director General Logistics Assurance in the Joint Logistics Group. Chief of Navy also appointed him Head of the Supply Community .January 2009 saw him assume his final appointment as Director General of Maritime Support in the Defence Materiel Organisation.
Bob will fill us in on his interesting and varied career in the 39 years  between 1973 and 2012 when he transferred to  the Reserve in February. He served on numerous ships over the years and  many operational deployments .In between times her married Ann and has settled amongst us in Victoria .We first got to know Bob well when he was C O of HMAS CERBERUS, and SNO Vic.
