Box Cottage Open Day

Special Guest – The Family of Harry Hawker.

On the 25th of August starting at 2 PM we will be having our open day, our guest is the Hawker Family, all relatives of Harry Hawker.

There are many connections to the Hawkers in the area .

George Hawker (His Farther) was with the Victorian Rangers and attended and won many rifle competitions in Australia and the UK, he was also the circuit minister for th Moorabbin area and Sectary of the Highett Crickett club.

Mark Hawker (his Uncle) was in the Forth contingent Boer War and is Farr Sagt M Hawker on the Cheltenham Boer War memorial.

Bert Hawker (Captain Herbert Stanley Hawker MC) lived in Duke St Sth Caulfield and died in the Caulfield Repat (1942) and is buried at the Cheltenham Memorial Cemetery.

Mary Hawker (his Mother) died in 1917 and is buried at the Brighton Cemetery.
