Behind The Wire: Images and Stories of Vietnam Veterans

Many of us know Vietnam Veterans as kind people in caravans, the nice man at the bowling club or as ‘grandpa’. But for almost four decades it has been a tough journey home. Now, many former service men finally feel comfortable enough about their service in this controversial war to share their stories through the medium of photography and conversation with professional photographer Susan Gordon-Brown. For many of the veterans, the process of being photographed and of telling their story was an act of catharsis. Join us as Susan speaks about the journey made by these remarkable Australians and some of the scars, both physical and mental, which these men still carry.
