Anzac Run – Melbourne

January 1, 1970 @ 10:00 am

Join Melbourne’s first Anzac Run.
Start at Cobbers Statue, Shrine of Remembrance

Shrine of Remembrance, Birdwood Avenue

Melbourne VIC 3004

The commemorative public run acknowledges and honours the significance of the military to Australia’s defence whilst promoting the values and ideals that lay at the heart of the Anzac tradition.

Melbourne’s Anzac Run will start at Cobber’s Statue near the Shrine of Remembrance and finish at Gosch’s Paddock with a range of activities, including military bands and displays. The commemorative run is open to people from all walks of life and comes at a time when there is a growing awareness among young Australians about Gallipoli.

“Exercise your freedom” is the key motto of an event which aims to be a practical demonstration of the liberty and unity fought for over many years, often at great cost.

Participants in Anzac Run will be encouraged to fundraise through the online tool Everyday Hero for such vital organisations as the RSL, Legacy and Stand Tall for PTS, a foundation and lobby group that raises awareness about Post Traumatic Stress.
