An Evening with Michael Challinger, Author of Anzacs in Arkhangel
January 1, 1970 @ 10:00 am
An opportunity to hear Michael Challinger, author of The Anzacs in Arkhangel, speak about his experiences whilst travelling through Russia gathering research for his historical account of our Australian diggers. It is the untold story of Australia and the invasion of Russia 1918-19.
Many of us are unaware that as World War One was coming to a close and soldiers were returning home, a small group of Australian men signed up for more fighting. This time, the enemy was Russian Bolsheviks instead of Germans, and the frontline was the wild and frozen wastelands of far north.
In this centenary year when we reflect on the service of Australian men and women in our armed forces I invite you to mark the ANZAC centenary and to also raise funds for your community group.
To help our community projects Michael will appear for no fee and reduce the cost of his book to encourage people to attend.
• A $30 ticket will include a signed copy of Anzacs in Arkhangel and refreshments.
• A $10 per ticket is available for just entry and refreshments.
• $5 from each ticket will be forwarded to the community group who has sold the ticket, or to the community group nominated by the ticket purchaser.
If your service group is interested in participating please contact me at the following number.
